COUNTRY LIGHTS UGANDA FINANCIAL POLICY AND PROCEDURES

FINANCIAL POLICY

The Board of Trustees has the following responsibilities:

  1. Safeguarding the charity’s assets
  2. Preventing fraud
  3. Avoiding errors
  4. Maintaining financial records in accordance with the governing document and relevant legislation (e.g., Charities Acts, Companies Acts, etc.)
  5. Preparing Annual Accounts in compliance with the governing document and relevant legislation

To fulfill these responsibilities, all Board of Directors members, staff, and volunteers must adhere to the Financial Procedures outlined below at all times.

A copy of this policy and procedures will be provided to all Board of Directors members upon their election/appointment to the Board and to all relevant staff and volunteers.

The policy and procedures will undergo an annual review by the Board of Directors and will be revised as needed.

This Financial Policy and the Financial Procedures were approved and documented during a meeting of the Board of Trustees on 4th December 2017.
