The retired Bishop of North Kigezi, the Rt Rev. Dr Edward Muhima, has urged Parliamentarians to amend their ways and be ready for the second coming of Jesus Christ which he said will happen unexpectedly.

This was his theme during his preaching at the Christmas Carol’s Holy Communion Service, organised by the Parliamentary Anglican Chaplaincy on 14th December 2022.

“Behold I come like a thief. Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes with him so that he may not be shamefully exposed,” preached Bishop Muhima, reading from the Book of Revelations.

He noted that this this is a warning against being spiritually unprepared for the coming of Jesus Christ that can occur unexpectedly.

He also cited honesty, truthfulness, love, faithfulness, transparency, accommodativeness, patience, time consciousness and team spirit as necessary fruits in our communities and homes, that can keep our nation out of trouble.

“If Uganda is going to become a better country, we need to come back to God through Jesus Christ. There is no integrity without God at the centre,” Bishop Muhima added.

In his message at the Christmas Carols Holy Communion Service, Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa urged Members of Parliament to stand firm against vices that pose a risk to the family institution.

He said this while reiterating his stance against same sex marriages, a vice which he said the devil has used to break the family.

“Colleague MPs, you must stand firm even if they threaten you at international fora. Some colleagues fear that their assets abroad can be frozen, but the biggest asset you have is Heaven,” Tayebwa said.

Country Lights Uganda:   Accepting the Life You Didn’t Expect

He mentioned that the President of Hungary, Katalin Novak, is expected to visit Uganda in 2023, to experience the values promoted by the country.

“After I made my presentation in Maputo, the President of a European country called me and said she will visit Uganda. There is a European President who believes in the message we are preaching,” Tayebwa added.
