The School Outreach Department department focuses on the young people in high schools and colleges in Uganda. It reaches out to youth with the purpose capacity building, youth empowerment and Awareness on HIV/AIDS. These are done through workshops, Debates, Seminars, Conferences.

Over the past 6 years, the organization has been reaching out to Luwero District through missionary work. Luwero district is on the poorest districts in Uganda with 80% unemployed people leaving with their children.

Research has been made and found that 75% of the families survive on one meal a day worth 1 dollar. The education of 78% of the children is this district is not favorable since most parents/ guardians are unemployed, hence unable to acquire excellent academic atmosphere schools in Uganda.

In 2015, the organization came up with an idea of starting up an excellent Academic school Project of Primary and Secondary Education in Luwero district that could avail free good educational provisions to vulnerable and orphan children and youth in this district.

This idea came with the purpose of empowering and providing excellent free education to these children and youth since they are unable to be in schools that could avail good education due to the inability of finances to enable them be in such schools.

Towards the end of 2017, The Board of Directors of Country Lights Uganda passed a resolution to start on this project in 2018. The project is start with a Primary school to minimize the rampant growth of uneducated vulnerable and orphan children due to the inability of their parents or guardians financially to meet the standards of quality education schools in Uganda.

The Primary Country Lights Academy will educate three thousand children between the ages of five years to fifteen years i.e. from Primary one to Primary seven after its accomplishment.

The Academy Primary project is to meet the quality standards of children and the first Phase will need Country Lights Uganda to raise $500,000.

Fundraising for Country Lights Academy

The main strategy for raising money for country lights academy is through reaching out to Donors, Well wishers and Applying for Grants.

Call for Sponsorships and Donations

We are also grateful to our monthly sponsors for the continued monthly support towards children’s sponsorships. Because of our commitment to using the sponsorship money only for its intended purpose, we are fundraising to generate the money needed for this project, outside sponsorship, and our operating budget. We need your help to accomplish our goal.

Country Lights Uganda believes once this project is set off and comes into a reality, Many vulnerable and orphans children and youth in this district will get an opportunity to acquire free quality education, which will make them resourceful in future hence making Luwero a better place to live in.
