What makes you valuable?Such a question may cause some to blurt out that they have no value. Others will point to accomplishments, money, titles or degrees. Some may measure their value by their family/marriage/children. For some, being busy identifies them as valuable. But let’s go deeper.

If you had no accomplishments, money, titles, degrees or family, what makes you valuable? If all you can point to is failure, hopelessness, poverty and sickness, does that mean you have no value?

If we measure our value only in terms of things, then the person with the most things is the most valuable. How does God determine value?”

Country Lights Uganda:   Weekly Churchgoers have better mental health than non-churchgoers: New Report

Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” (Mt. 6:26)

In the heart of God all of humanity is valuable. And not just humanity in general, but each individual who has ever lived. You are so valuable that Jesus would have died for you if you were the only person on earth! You are so valuable that He has chosen to live IN you, give you His life, fill you with His Spirit and give you His Name.

If you are looking to things or accomplishments in order to establish your value, you’re missing it. Things can’t give you your true identity and value. Your value can’t be measured by money, fame or great deeds. You are valuable simply because you exist, and you were created in the image of God. Your life matters to God.“

As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.” (John 15:9)

You may not feel loved, but you are loved. You may not feel special, but in the heart of God, you are. Don’t let the world determine your value. The world will throw you away when it is done with you. The world doesn’t write or call once you find yourself on the trash heap of life.

Country Lights Uganda:   New report shows where Christian persecution is expected to worsen in 2022

God has chosen you and offered you His very life. Accept your value. You were worth the blood of Jesus.
