Ugandan musician and entertainer Namakula Mary, commonly known as Mary Bata, made a decision to return ‘back again to Jesus’ during her visit to a born-again Christian Church in Namasuba, Kampala district.

Pastor Julie Deborah Kisakye of Prayer Healing Tabernacle International Ministries – Kibili-Ggangu confirmed this development Tuesday through a brief statement.

“I’m so happy she’s back again to Jesus,” Pastor Julie Deborah said.

In photos shared by the pastor who doubles as a gospel musician, Mary Bata, 28, can be seen lifting up her hands in prayer, and later embracing Pastor Julie Deborah at Latter Glory Church in Namasuba, Kampala district on 28 March, 2022.

“We used to serve God me and my sister Mary Bata,” Pastor Julie Deborah said.

Later after the crusade, Mary Bata took to social media and said: “Let us return to the Lord, worldly things are vanity.”

Bata started as a singer in a church choir before joining the then Kream Productions Band in 2013.

She said she lost both parents at a tender age, but the best gift they ever gave her was a firm Christian foundation.

“I thank God for my life. I came to Kampala from Kamengo as a house girl, earning only Ush10,000 per month,” she said Christians at the crusade. Mary Bata said she made a vow to God never to undermine anybody all her life should He lift her from poverty and change her social status.

In 2014 released her breakthrough song “Disappointment” and this song brought her to the limelight of the Ugandan music. She had her first concert on 28 August 2015 at Theatre La Bonita in Kampala.

Meanwhile, the church later also hosted music artist Ziza Bafana.
