At Country Lights Ministries in Uganda, we hold the mission of evangelism in the highest regard, as it serves as a beacon of hope and a pathway to salvation. Our dedicated evangelism team tirelessly extends the message of our Lord Jesus Christ to non-believers, with a singular purpose – to bring lost souls into the loving embrace of Christ. Our approach encompasses a wide range of activities, including preaching the gospel, providing sustenance to the impoverished, visiting those incarcerated, tending to the ailing, and offering solace to the broken-hearted. Through a spectrum of outreach initiatives such as Street Evangelism, Prison Evangelism, School and College Evangelism, Community Door-to-Door Evangelism, and Rural Evangelism, Country Lights Ministries Uganda is steadfastly committed to this divine calling, anchored on three fundamental principles.

1. It’s a Command:

To us, evangelism is not merely a choice but an unequivocal mandate issued to all believers, a commandment given by our Savior, Jesus Christ Himself. As recorded in Matthew 28:16-20:

• “16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
• 17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
• 18 And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
• 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
• 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.“

We, as disciples of Christ, are compelled to share His message, spreading the light of His love to all corners of the world.

2. Evangelism is a Lifestyle:

Our ministry is firmly rooted in the example set by the Apostle Paul, who considered evangelism not merely a duty but a way of life. We mirror his dedication in our daily existence, endeavoring to make Jesus famous wherever we tread, through various activities, most notably, proclaiming the gospel. As Philippians 1:21 beautifully encapsulates:

“For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

Our lives are a testament to the commitment of spreading the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ.

3. Evangelism Involves Self-Denial:

Country Lights Ministries Uganda epitomizes the concept of self-denial, wholly immersing itself in the sacred task of disseminating the gospel of Jesus Christ. We venture into remote and challenging terrains with a singular aim – to bring more souls to Christ and assist those in need. Our hearts are fully dedicated to this divine mission, exemplifying the essence of selflessness. As we read in John 9:4:

“I must work the works of him that sent me while it is day: the night cometh when no man can work.”

We recognize the urgency of our mission and the need for immediate action.
